Heritage Cottage Addition
This circa 1870 home was the original lighthouse keeper’s house in Fremantle, Empire constructed this ultra-modern addition and renovated the existing cottage so that the clients growing family could continue to live in such a unique location.
Preservation of the existing structure was paramount whilst access created its own set of complications to this smaller extension. The client’s Architect provided us with a scope for design and Empire and the clients took the reins to collaborate their ideas to conclude the design brief.
Empire has considerable experience working with heritage sites where preservation and restoration is a critical requirement. We have worked with Heritage Council and Heritage Architects to restore some of Perth’s residential buildings
